18.09.07 : City-Watch Announces Strategic Partnership

In a move to enhance the image distribution technology that is city-watch's core IT platform, a new strategic partnership was agreed yesterday (17th September 2007) with the UK's only mobile phone push to talk provider.

The partnership will lead to a combined instant image and voice messaging capability that will further assert city-watch.co.uk as the UK's specialist provider in instant image identification platforms.

The partnership will seek to rival and take over from the traditional pub-watch and shop-watch model of two way radio based incident communication by offering an alternative radio platform coupled with image distribution and incident mapping technology.

"The new partnerships allow us to take the traditional pub watch radio model to a new level", said Andrew Parkes, Strategic Director for city-watch.co.uk. "The merging of a mobile phone based 'radio' capability with secure picture distribution on a single device provides us with opportunity to enter the business to business market place as well as selling directly to end users".

The new PTT technology also has several user advantages over the traditional radio model as it does away with the problems of 'talkover' and missed messages with an instant message retrieval capability provided as part of the package.

Work to merge the integrated technologies should be completed ready for beta testing at the end of October 2007.
